2fort5

Our first ever battle was held at 11pm on Saturday 17/1/98 against ICBM, currently the oldest of the Zip clans.

The first level played was 2fort5, 8 vs 8. Playing for us were Karl, Tetsuo, Hetzer, Fenrir, rj, Grimm, Z and Strafe. Victim was in London, Proto and Mic were unavailable, and Son of Strafe was probably in bed. :-)

The game started off well, with an early key capture to us. We got to 20-10 in our favour (but our flag was on the bridge) when the server died because we hit the 512 entity limit. This is not really surprising, considering that our flag was being heavily spammed by MIRV grens, nail grens and pipe bombs by us in an attempt to protect it, and also by ICBM in an attempt to clear our defence away. :-)

The game started again from 0-0. We did even better in this one, getting to a 40-10 lead in fairly quick time when the server decided that it had had enough of TF and thought it should reset and give us a chance to play some DM. After a bit of emergency server fiddling and an impromptu game of DM that Z won, the server was fixed up and ICBM graciously conceded defeat in 2fort5.

The game was played well by both sides, but Loki's defence was generally better, and our attackers got in a number of good flag runs.

The server reset before anyone had a chance to get a screenshot of the scores.

Final map result: Loki 40, ICBM 10.
