Well6

The second map was well6, 8 v 8. Playing were karl, Fenrir, Grimm, Strafe and Proto on defence, and Z, rj and Mic on attack. We were on a bit of a high at this point, having come out of 2fort5 with a good win. Unfortunately, however, we let a quick capture of our key occur in the opening minute, before karl and Fenrir could even join the game, getting us off to a bad start. Nevertheless, we fought back to make it 10-10. The score stayed this way for much of the game, then suddenly there were a frantic few minutes where both sides traded captures, the lead changing a number of times. Our defence became badly disorganised during this period, and we gave up our key easily a couple of times, losing us the game.

Considering that we were missing two or our best well6 defenders, Hetzer and Victim, and had many people playing in unfamiliar positions, we did OK, but we do need to work more on our organisation. Grimm managed to get a spanner murder in this map. :-)

In attack, Z, rj and Mic found the defence tough, but worked hard and scored a number of good captures. Had our defence not let us down at some crucial points, we could have come away with a win. However, this was not the case, and QG ended up with a well deserved win.

Map result: QG 50, Loki 40.
