2fort5

The second map was 2fort5. Players this time were Fenrir, Mil, Proto and Z on defence, and Grimm, Karl and Tetsuo on attack. This map followed a similar pattern to well6. Our attackers did a great job in breaking through TSD's defence to get to the flag, while our defenders kept out most of TSD's attackers. Grimm and Karl attacked well together, with Tetsuo giving good backup support. The attacking was not easy, as at times it appeared that TSD had virtually their whole team defending! Nevertheless, TSD's flag was captured a total of twelve times, which was a terrific effort. Skitzo played a good role as medic for TSD. Our attackers would often get the flag, only to be killed by disease seconds later.

Our defence was again very strong, thwarting virtually every attack that TSD made. As in well6, TSD's attacks could have gained from better synchronisation, but this time TSD did succeed in capturing our flag once. A scout managed to sneak through at a time when our sentry was down, and scooted off with the flag before we could kill him. In the last few minutes of the game, TSD threw just about everything into one last attacking run, overwhelming our defenders. Our flag was taken, but the game ended before it could be captured. In return, we also had their flag, but we too did not have time to capture.

Map result: Loki 120, TSD 10.

The third map was supposed to have been rock1 but it was agreed by both sides not to play this.

Game result: Loki won 2-0.

We were certainly very happy with this result and had a great time. Considering the time of the match, it was good to see so many players turn up. This, however, caused great stress for Karl as he tried to work out who was going to play in each map! Everyone got to play in at least one of the maps, however, and those who had to sit out enjoyed watching the game from the spectators' stand.

Thanks to TSD for the game, and good luck to them for their future matches.

The first screenshot shows the final rankings with TSD one player short. The teams were in fact even for the game, but one TSD player dropped seconds before this shot was taken. The second shot taken just a minute before the game ended shows this.
