2fort5
The first map played was 2fort5, 8 v 8, using QW2.3 and TF2.9 on the Zip Clan server for OZTFL and OTFCR points. Playing for Loki were Victim, Astro Boy, Goo, Fenrir, Hetzer, Mil, Mirage and Hemp (a Loki being trialled, playing his first ever game for us). Shilka's cable modem was playing up so he was unable to play, Karl and rj have gone inactive, Grimm was out watching England beat Australia at the SCG, Tetsuo was unable to play due to PC problems, and Proto, mic and Zel just failed to show up. In the end, with 8 players being unavailable for the game, we knew we were going to struggle against one of the best clans in the country. Being forced to use a player who had never played with us before and didn't know any of our strategies certainly didn't help either. :(
Fortunately, most of the normal defensive side was playing, so we were able to do a solid job of keeping AF away from our flag. AF's first attack run was almost successful, though. Most of the Loki defence seemed to start off in the side respawn area, and by the time they made it to their positions, an AF scout had already grabbed our flag. Things looked pretty shaky, but we hung on and kept them out. AF kept at us, though, and we had to work pretty hard all game to keep them scoreless.
Our attack was having trouble getting through the AF defence, and in fact was not making much of an impression at all. As most of our regular attackers were not playing, there was little co-ordination, communication or strength in our attack, making our attackers easy targets for the solid AF defence. This gave AF the opportunity to send Cannibal on attack, as he was getting too bored down in the basement. :) This meant our defence had to endure even more pressure, particularly when Cannibal actually took our flag. Well done to the Loki defenders, though, for not letting AF capture.
When the game finished, we were all pretty exhausted and were happy to come out of it with a draw.
Map score: Loki 0, AF 0.
