2fort5

The first map played was 2fort5, 8 v 8. The players were Victim, Z, Fenrir and Hetzer on defence, and rj, Grimm, Shilka and Karl on attack. Mil started off spectating but had to sub in first for Fenrir on defence, and then later on for Karl on attack. Mic came in late in the game and watched.

We started off unusually badly in this map. They charged off to a 20-0 lead before we knew what was happening, and for a while it looked like that we were going to lose badly. Fenrir had a bad connection so called for Mil to sub in for him on defence fairly early in the game, then reconnected to Zip and came back in to spectate, and Vic later confessed to having too many beers before the game. :-) On the otherhand, the [7] attack was in general well co-ordinated and executed and kept our defenders extremely busy. Giving away six captures was our worst ever defensive effort in 2fort5. Congratulations to the [7] guys for this. :-)

Fortunately after a while our attackers got into gear and fought hard to get the score to 30-30. It was about this time that Zip decided that it was time for Karl to stop playing, so Mil, who had gone back to spectating after asking Fenrir to get back into the game, came in to join the attack. From this point on we pretty much traded captures. We got to a 60-50 lead when Vic timed out, leaving our defence a player short. [7] got our flag again and captured it with only seconds to go before the game ended, leaving the game in a 60-60 draw. This was a little bit disappointing, but probably a fair result.

Map score: Loki 60, [7] 60.
