2fort5

(Apologies for the delay in writing the Clan ? battle reports. I had them completely written a day or so after the game but when I went to upload them to the server, I accidentally downloaded the online skeleton files over the top of the ones I had just written. I was really not impressed with myself for this. :-) I didn't have the energy at the time to re-write the reports and have only just got around to it now.)

We had once had a joint practice session with C? so we knew what they were capable of. We certainly were not going to be caught out by under-estimating them.

The first map played was 2fort5, 7 v 7. The players were Mic, Victim, Z and Tetsuo on defence, and rj, Grimm and Karl on attack. Shilka, Hetzer and Mil spectated. Fenrir was getting bored shitless at a BBQ/dinner in the backblocks of Sydney.

At the beginning, we had to wait ages while C? got their team together so there was a lot of pre-match mucking around. Eventually the game got underway and we settled into a closely fought battle.

Our defence did a great job and kept the C? attackers out of our flag room for most of the game. They did manage to get a couple of touches but they never got the flag out of our flag room. Mic did a good job in a position he doesn't normally play in, Tetsuo wielded the engineer's spanner with great proficiency, and Vic and Z worked extremely well together and were absolutely brutal in defence. Great stuff!

Our attackers did OK but suffered from the usual lack of cohesion. C?'s defence was doing a solid job and kept us out well in the early stages of the game. Eventually, however, we broke through and got away with the flag for our first capture. We got in two more captures but C? were a man down for a portion of the game, which certainly didn't help their cause at all. Groovy did a good sniping job for C?, making life very uncomfortable for our attackers.

In general it was a pretty tight game, with good defence from both sides.

Map score: Loki 30, C? 0.
