The first map played was 2fort5, 8 v 8, using QW2.3 and TF2.8 on D.A.'s server. Playing for Loki were Victim, Proto, Fenrir, Grimm, Tetsuo, mic, Mirage and Zel. At various stages of the game, Mil, Goo and Hetzer also played. Shilka spectated because of bodgy modem problems.

This game started off quite evenly with neither side making any significant threats to their opponent's flag. Fairly early on in the game, though, a number of Lokis suddenly found that they could not move. The following screenshot was taken at this time. :)

We have no idea what happened, but as a result a couple of people dropped and we were down to 6 people. Other Lokis quickly joined, but we became pretty disorganised and for a little while we didn't have an engineer. D.A. kept their strong attack going and we were not able to withstand the pressure. We soon found ourselves down 20-0 and really feeling pretty bad. :) D.A.'s attacks were very well co-ordinated and exhibited very high levels of skill. They were really hammering us pretty badly and we were struggling to keep them out.

After about 25 minutes of the game, we thought we had to cap quickly, as we thought the game was the usual 30 minutes long. Little did we know that the game was in fact 45 minutes long! Anyway, as a result we increased our attack and started to put some extra pressure on their defence. This worked and we got our first cap. Unfortunately, they also got another cap, taking the score to 30-10. D.A. had a player or two drop at this point themselves, so they too had to call for reinforcements.

We then got ourselves organised and shifted up a gear. We strengthened our attack again and soon levelled the game at 30-30. A couple more caps then took us to 50-30, where we were finally able to breath a sigh of relief. :) We then strengthened our defence and kept D.A. out for the rest of the game.

This was a really intense game that we were lucky to win. Had the game been the usual 30 minutes long, we probably would have lost or at best drawn. Thanks to Havok for giving us the time to make a comeback. :) Great game.
