TEAM FORTRESS - RULES

SYDNEY GAMERS LEAGUE (SGL) TEAM FORTRESS COMPETITION RULES OF COMBAT

1 - GAME ORGANISATION

1.1 Prior To Play.

A. There shall be no more than 6 players on each team in any game.
B. All games shall be played at the servers and times set out by the SGL Admin.

1.2 Starting Play.

A. A prematch time of 2 minutes will begin at the time set out by the SGL Admin.
B. During the prematch time, players from either side are allowed to join, providing neither team exceeds 6 players.

1.3 The Game.

A. One map will be played, with the map alternating between Well6 and Rock2, with 2fort5 being used for the finals deciding map.
B. Choice of colour will be made by clan leaders before the prematch.
C. Each map will be played for NO MORE than 30 minutes, not including the prematch time.

2 - SCORING

2.1 Game Scoring

A. The captains from both teams must report the match scores to SGL Admin as soon as the match is completed.
B. The score for each clan will be the number of captures for that clan.
C. A clan draws a map when the capture score are equal. In the SGL a draw is seen for what it is, a draw.
D. A clan wins a map when their capture score is greater than the capture score of the opposing clan.
E. The scores for each map are relative to that map ONLY. Ladder points are awarded as per Rules 2.3, with captures for and against being taken into account.
F. The percentage of one team's captures against the total number of captures in that map, that figure averaged over all maps played in the competition, will be used to break deadlocks in League points at the end of the competition and to decide which clans move to the finals series.

2.2 Final Game Results

A. A win occurs if both maps are won by the one clan.
B. A tie occurs if either both maps are drawn or the clans win one map each.
C. If a tie occurs at the end of the normal time, a third map, being 2fort5r will be played.
D. If a draw occurs in the third map, we shall move to Sudden Death.
E. Sudden Death will consist of first team to capture wins. With every 5 minutes of deadlock, a player from each team will be kicked from the server.
F. Early in each 5 minutes of Sudden Death, both captains will be asked to nominate one of their players to be kicked at the next 5 minute mark. Captains will be contacted independantly of each other by SGL Admin. Play will continue until the first team captures.

2.3 League Scoring

A. The winning clan for each map will have 3 points added to its league tally.
B. A losing clan for each map will have 1 point added to its league tally.
C. Clans who draw a map will both have 2 points added to their league tallies.
D. Clans who forfeit a map will receive NO points for that map.
E. Clans who win by forfeit will receive 3 points for that map.
F. Clans who have a bye will receive 3 points for that round.

3 - OTHER INCIDENTS

3.1 Unforeseen Incidents

A. Any incidents which adversely or otherwise affect a game should be dealt with at the disgression of the SGL Admin.

4 - ALLOWABLE MAPS

4.1 List Of Allowable Maps

A. The maps listed in 4.1.b may be chosen for play.
B. Allowed maps: Well6 and Rock2, with 2fort5r being played exclusively for the finals 3rd map.

5 - PROGRAM VERSIONS

Team Fortress/QuakeWorld versions.

A. The version of Team Fortress used on the servers will be TF 2.9 using new grenades.
B. The version of QuakeWorld on the servers will be QW 2.30 .

6 - RESERVES

The Use of Reserves.

A. Each clan can have 2 reserves, which can be called upon to play in the place of missing players.

8 - Miscellaneous

8.1 Proxies

No proxies can be used whatsoever. This includes the use of Cheapo. This competition will be held on LAN and within hearing distance of all other players in your team therefore there is no need for a team-talk proxy such as Cheapo.

8.2 Grenade Timer Wav Files

The use of scripted grenade timer wav files are allowed in the SGL TF competition. For those who do not know how this can be used, head on over to the Files page to get the script and wav file.
